Researching Keywords For Blogging

May 12, 2009

The most important part of making any kind of money making website or blog, is the research that you have to do prior to exactly launching the blog. Before you even buy the domain for your site, you will need to do research on your topic of choice.

The amount of research that you do will have a huge effect on how much money your blog is going to make for you.

Ideally you want to look for three things when researching your keywords. These things will give you an idea on how much money your blog can exactly make and whether it is worth it to actually pursue some keywords.

CPC

The first thing you will want to find out is the CPC (Cost-Per-Click) of your keyword. This will determine how much money you can exactly make from your keyword. Try to find one that will give you at least over $1.00 per click.

Searches

The amount of searches will determine how many people will exactly be searching for your term. The more searches a keyword gets the more potential It has to make you money. Try to shoot for a keyword that gets at least over 3000 searches a month so that you have a keyword that gets a decent amount of search volume.

Competition

The last and final thing that you should be aware of is the competition that your keyword has. Just by doing a few Google searches you can see what kind of sites you are going to be up against. Anything that is over a Page Rank of 4 means that there is too much competition, unless you’re going to be putting in a lot of effort into your site.

If the top four results are a Page Rank of 3 or under you should be good to go. If you can maximize these three things then you should be able to get a keyword that will make you money online. Just remember these simple rules and apply them next time you do keyword research.
